Sensor patches for FreeStyle Libre, Dexcom & Omnipod | MySweetStitch FAQ
FAQ – Frequently asked questions about MySweetStitch sensor patches
Frequently asked questions about MySweetStitch sensor patches: adhesion, water resistance, sports, sensitive skin, application, removal, and compatibility with FreeStyle Libre, Dexcom, Omnipod & co.
Why should I use a sensor patch?
A sensor patch provides additional protection for your CGM sensor, insulin pump, or catheter in everyday life. It helps reduce the risk of premature detachment – for example, while showering, sweating, playing sports, sleeping, getting dressed, or playing. A fixing patch is particularly useful if your sensor tends to come loose easily, if you are very active, or if you simply want more security in your daily life.
How long do MySweetStitch sensor patches last?
Our sensor patches are designed for an extra-strong hold and can last reliably for up to 12–15+ days, depending on skin type, application, body area, and activity levels.
For the best adhesion, the patch should be applied to clean, dry, and oil-free skin. Creams, oils, body lotion, sweat, or moisture can significantly reduce adhesion.
Are the sensor patches waterproof?
Yes. MySweetStitch sensor patches are waterproof, breathable, and quick-drying. They are suitable for showering, sweating, swimming, and an active daily life.
After contact with water, we recommend gently patting the patch dry rather than rubbing it vigorously. This helps the edges stay securely adhered to the skin for as long as possible.
Can I play sports with MySweetStitch patches?
Yes. Our CGM patches are designed for exercise, training, and active days. The flexible patch material adapts to your skin and supports the secure hold of your sensor even during sports, sweating, and physical activity.
For optimal hold, we recommend applying the patch some time before sports, showering, or swimming so that the adhesive can bond well with the skin.
Are MySweetStitch patches skin-friendly?
Yes. Our patches are made of high-quality medical-grade patch material and are skin-friendly, breathable, and comfortable to wear.
They are hypoallergenic, latex-free, and free from IBOA and MBPA, making them suitable for sensitive skin as well.
Are the sensor patches suitable for sensitive skin?
Yes. MySweetStitch patches were developed with sensitive skin in mind. The material is breathable, flexible, and comfortable to wear.
Since every skin reacts differently, skin irritation may still occur in individual cases. If someone has particularly sensitive skin, we recommend monitoring the skin closely during the first wear and removing the patch carefully.
Are the patches hypoallergenic?
Yes. Our sensor patches are hypoallergenic, latex-free, and free from IBOA and MBPA.
This makes them especially suitable for people who value a skin-friendly fixation patch for their sensor, insulin pump, or catheter.
Are MySweetStitch patches suitable for children?
Yes. Our sensor patches are suitable for both children and adults. They can offer extra security for children in particular, as sensors are often subjected to more stress in everyday life through playing, romping around, sports, clothing, or sleeping.
For children and those with very sensitive skin, we recommend removing the patch with extra care and checking the skin regularly.
Which sensors do you offer MySweetStitch patches for?
We offer sensor patches for many popular diabetes devices, including Freestyle Libre, Dexcom, Omnipod, Medtronic, Simplera, and various catheters and infusion sets.
Please select the appropriate model on the respective product page to ensure that the shape and size fit your sensor or device perfectly.
Are there MySweetStitch patches for Freestyle Libre?
Yes. We offer matching fixation patches for various Freestyle Libre models, including Freestyle Libre 2, Freestyle Libre Select, Freestyle Libre Duo, Freestyle Libre 3, and Freestyle Libre 3 Plus.
Our Freestyle Libre sensor patches help to provide extra fixation for the sensor during daily activities, sports, showering, and swimming.
Are there MySweetStitch patches for Dexcom?
Yes. We offer matching sensor patches for various Dexcom models, including Dexcom G6, Dexcom G7, Dexcom ONE+, and other compatible systems.
It is important to select the correct version for your specific Dexcom sensor, as the shape and size can differ depending on the model.
Are there MySweetStitch patches for Omnipod?
Yes. We offer matching patches for Omnipod 4, Omnipod 5, and Omnipod DASH.
Our Omnipod patches are designed to provide extra protection for the pod and keep it securely in place during daily activities—such as exercising, playing sports, sweating, or coming into contact with water.
What is the difference between an overpatch, a ring patch, and an underpatch?
An overpatch is applied over the sensor to provide extra hold from the outside.
A ring patch is applied around the sensor, leaving the center exposed. This is particularly useful if you prefer not to cover the sensor directly.
An underpatch is worn beneath the sensor or catheter and acts as a gentle protective layer between your skin and the device. It can help reduce friction and skin irritation.
Which sensor patch is right for me?
That depends on your device and the intended use.
If you want to secure the sensor further, an overpatch or ring patch is appropriate. If you want to protect the skin underneath the sensor, pod, or catheter, an underpatch is the right choice.
Does the sensor patch affect my sensor readings?
When applied correctly, the patch is designed to secure the sensor without interfering with its functionality.
Additionally, you should always follow the application instructions provided by the respective sensor manufacturer.
How do I apply a sensor patch correctly?
Your skin should be clean, dry, and free of oils. Carefully remove the backing paper and place the patch precisely over or around the sensor.
Then, gently press the patch down for a few seconds—paying special attention to the edges.
Why does my sensor patch sometimes come off early?
Durability can vary depending on skin type, body location, and daily activity. Common reasons for premature peeling include residue from creams or oils, moist skin, heavy sweating, friction from clothing, or putting strain on the patch too soon after application.
For optimal hold, the patch should be applied to clean, dry skin and pressed down firmly after application.
How can I remove the sensor patch gently?
The patch should be peeled off slowly and flat against the skin in the direction of hair growth. It is best to remove it bit by bit rather than pulling it off suddenly.
For sensitive skin, it can help to loosen the patch beforehand using warm water, a little oil, or a suitable adhesive remover.
Are MySweetStitch sensor patches breathable?
Yes. Our patches are breathable and flexible, making them comfortable to wear on the skin and allowing them to adapt well to daily movements. This is particularly important if the sensor patch is worn for several days or if you have sensitive skin.
Are the patches free of IBOA, MBPA, and latex?
Yes. MySweetStitch patches are latex-free and free of IBOA and MBPA.
Are MySweetStitch patches certified medical devices?
Yes. Our patches are CE-certified Class I medical devices.
They are developed, produced, packaged, and shipped by us in Germany.
Where are MySweetStitch patches made?

This means they stand for tested quality, short transport routes, and high standards regarding material, workmanship, and skin compatibility.
What does “by diabetics for diabetics” mean?
MySweetStitch was developed based on our own experience with diabetes. We are familiar with many of the everyday challenges associated with sensors, pumps, and catheters ourselves, which is why we develop our products with a special focus on secure adhesion, skin comfort, and practical everyday use.
Are the sensor patches available in different colors and designs?
Yes. Our patches are available in subtle colors, bold accent colors, and selected design variations.
This allows everyone to decide whether they want the sensor patch to be as inconspicuous as possible or to intentionally complement their own style.
Are MySweetStitch patches original accessories from the sensor manufacturers?
No. MySweetStitch patches are independent accessory products and are developed and offered independently of the respective sensor, pump, and catheter manufacturers.
All mentioned brands and product names are used exclusively for describing compatibility.
